Floyd Returns: A Honeymoon Reunion for Agatha ❤️

Agatha’s Scottish Boyfriend Is Coming Back ❤️
There is a little extra excitement at Wolfpack Towers this week because Agatha’s old boyfriend is coming to stay.
His name is Floyd, he lives four hours away in Scotland, and if you’ve followed the Wolfpack for a while, you may already know exactly who we mean.
Floyd is the reason Agatha proudly represented Scotland during our Wolfpack World Cup this summer, with her Scottish boyfriend supporting his girl from afar.
But their story started long before football entered the equation.
Last year, when Agatha came into season and we decided the time was right for her to become a mum, we needed to find her a boyfriend.
Not just any boyfriend either.
Agatha is one of our home-bred Staffordshire Bull Terriers and the daughter of our very own King Tommy, her mum is Peggy. She is 4 years old. We wanted to find a boy who we genuinely felt was right for her. Health was obviously important, as were the necessary checks and pedigree, but we also wanted a dog with a wonderful temperament. A happy, handsome Staffy who would complement Agatha and, hopefully, produce happy, healthy puppies with her.
There was only one sensible thing to do.
We put a Boyfriend Wanted poster on our Instagram Story.
As you can probably imagine, applications came flooding in.
There were handsome boys everywhere.
Then one photograph stopped me in my tracks.
I looked at Julie and wondered why this lady had sent us a photograph of Tommy.
She hadn’t.
It was Floyd.
The resemblance between them was remarkable. So remarkable, in fact, that I started wondering whether Tommy and Floyd could somehow be brothers.
That sent us down the rabbit hole of Staffordshire Bull Terrier family trees.
We checked Floyd’s pedigree through the Kennel Club and discovered that my instinct hadn’t been completely ridiculous. Floyd and Tommy were related, although distantly.
That actually made us like Floyd even more.
There is so much we love about Tommy, not just the way he looks but his character, temperament and everything that makes him King of the Wolfpack. Finding some of that family connection in Floyd was lovely.
Of course, there was another rather important consideration.
Tommy is Agatha’s dad.
So while discovering the family connection was interesting, we needed to make sure Floyd and Agatha were sufficiently distant from one another. When we checked the proposed pairing, their coefficient of inbreeding was well below the breed average.
Floyd was Kennel Club registered and had the health checks we required, so everything looked very promising.
But pedigrees, percentages and photographs can only tell you so much about a dog.
We wanted to meet Floyd.
More importantly, Agatha needed to meet Floyd.

The Day Floyd Came to Wolfpack Towers
Floyd’s family live around four hours away from us in Scotland, but they were happy to make the journey to Wolfpack Towers.
They wanted to meet us, meet the Wolfpack and see for themselves where their boy would be staying.
We wanted exactly the same thing from the other side.
We could look at photographs and paperwork all day long, but we wanted to see Floyd in the flesh, get to know his personality and see how he behaved around our family and dogs.
And then there was Agatha.
We could choose the boyfriend, but nobody had asked her what she thought about him yet.
As it turned out, Agatha didn't need much time to make up her mind.
It was an instant hit.
Love at first sight.
Cupid pulled back his bow, took aim and scored a direct hit.
They adored one another.
Whatever we had seen on paper suddenly mattered rather less than what was standing in front of us. Floyd was everything his family had told us he was. A strong, handsome Staffordshire Bull Terrier, but also a wonderfully gentle, kind and happy boy.
And his tail barely stopped wagging.
Most importantly, he and Agatha just clicked.
The original plan had been to meet him, see how everybody got along and test the ground.
They got along so well that Floyd stayed.
And that was the beginning of Agatha and Floyd.
Meet the Scottish King
Floyd’s official Kennel Club name is the rather magnificent ZAK DISAPPEARING ACT, and he was born on 31 August 2021.
He lives in Scotland with his family, their children and his litter sister, Mabel.
We might call Floyd the Scottish King, but apparently nobody has told Mabel about his royal status because, according to his family, she is definitely the boss.
Whilst Floyd is here he is quite different from our rabble.
Wolfpack Towers can occasionally be a little lively. Nine Staffies charging through the house tend to have that effect.
Floyd is quieter.
There’s something rather sophisticated about him. He arrives from Scotland with the air of a member of the landed gentry who has accidentally booked a week's holiday at a youth hostel.
He takes the chaos in his stride, finds himself a comfortable spot and watches the madness unfold around him.
He does, however, have his moments at home, Floyd has developed a special dance to announce that he believes dinner should be served. Calling it a dance might be generous. Apparently it consists mainly of leaping about and running backwards and forwards to the kitchen until somebody gets the message.
He's also learned the sound of his family's Life360 notification. As soon as he hears it, he knows somebody is coming home.
So there is definitely a bit of Staffy lunacy hiding beneath the sophisticated exterior.
But when Floyd stays with us, one of my favourite things about him comes at the end of the day.
After a long day of loving, the Scottish gentleman likes nothing more than climbing onto the sofa, putting his paws up and settling down to watch a good film.
Courting is tiring work, apparently.

Nine Little Reasons We Never Forgot Floyd
Agatha and Floyd’s romance did rather well.
On 29 October 2025, they became parents to nine gorgeous, healthy Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppies.
There was Bruno, Reggie, Maggie, Luna, Alma, Poppy, Lulu, Frances Jellybean and Rosie.
Nine little lives that began with an Instagram Boyfriend Wanted poster and a photograph that looked suspiciously like Tommy.
One of the nicest things about breeding our puppies is that saying goodbye doesn't necessarily mean they disappear from our lives.
We keep in regular contact with all nine families and follow the puppies on Instagram. We've had the privilege of watching them grow from those tiny bundles we cared for at Wolfpack Towers into beautiful young Staffies living their own lives with their families.
We love seeing them.
We love seeing the dogs they're becoming.
And we love knowing that the decision we made when Floyd's photograph first appeared on our phone led to those nine families having a new member of their own.
So when Agatha came into season again and we started thinking about who we would like her to have her next litter with, there was an obvious question.
Why change something that worked so beautifully?
Or, as we put it at Wolfpack Towers:
They made such beautiful babies, it would be a shame not to do it all again.
There was another little clue that Agatha might agree with us.
Almost a year after they last saw one another, she still gets excited when we say Floyd’s name.
Apparently Cupid's arrow left a lasting impression.
So we made the call.
The Scottish King was invited back.

The Honeymoon Suite Is Reopening
Floyd will be staying with us for around a week.
This time his family won't have to make the entire four-hour journey to Wolfpack Towers. We'll head north, meet them halfway and bring Floyd back with us.
Then comes the moment I'm particularly looking forward to.
Agatha seeing him again.
Will she recognise him immediately?
Judging by the reaction we still get from simply saying his name, I have a feeling she might.
We'll find out soon enough.
Back at Wolfpack Towers, preparations are already underway for our royal visitor.
For those of you who haven't seen behind the scenes here before, the dogs have rather impressive accommodation.
We have three purpose-made dog rooms.
At the back is the sun lounge, which is currently occupied by Eva’s puppies. Then we have the middle room, which is the main Wolfpack bedroom where the gang sleep together at night.
And finally there's a second bedroom overlooking the garden.
Most of the time it's simply another room for the dogs.
When Floyd comes to stay, however, it receives an upgrade.
The Honeymoon Suite.
It was Agatha and Floyd's room during his previous visit and it will be waiting for them again this time.
Although the room hasn't changed much, Floyd is going to notice a few differences around Wolfpack Towers.
Last time he was here, Mumbles was still a little puppy.
He'll be coming back to find that she's grown into a young lady.
And there's a new boy in town.
Prince Walter.
Floyd and Walter have never met.
Our young Prince is only seven months old and still has plenty to learn about the ways of the world, so perhaps he should pay close attention while the Scottish King is in residence.
There may be a few lessons available.
Meanwhile, King Tommy Is Going on Holiday
There is one member of the Wolfpack who won't be here to welcome Floyd back.
King Tommy.
Tommy is Agatha’s dad, and when Floyd came to stay last year we had a decision to make.
We had two adult male Staffordshire Bull Terriers, a girl in season and absolutely nothing to gain by putting them into a situation that could create tension.
They might have been perfectly fine.
But why find out?
Keeping our dogs safe and the household happy and harmonious will always matter more to us than taking an unnecessary risk.
Fortunately, Tommy has somewhere he absolutely loves going.
Our son Declan and Tommy have always shared a very special bond. We wrote about their relationship in The Izy Staffy Wolfpack: A True Story of Family, Dogs and Devotion, and a visit to Declan's is no hardship for Tommy.
Quite the opposite.
So just as we did last year, we'll pack Tommy's Thomas the Tank Engine backpack and send him off on his holidays.
He'll spend the week with Declan and another of his daughters, Billie, being thoroughly spoiled and probably wondering why anybody thinks he's the one being sent away.
There is one small detail we'll probably leave out when we wave him goodbye.
While King Tommy is enjoying his holiday with one daughter, Scottish King Floyd will be moving into the Honeymoon Suite with another.
What Tommy doesn't know won't hurt him.
And, of course, we'll have the cameras rolling.
Wolfpack Weekly will be following Floyd's return to Wolfpack Towers, from the moment the Scottish King arrives and sees Agatha again, to his first meeting with Prince Walter and whatever fun and games unfold during his week in the Honeymoon Suite.
If Agatha remembers her old boyfriend quite as well as we think she does, we have a feeling there might be plenty to film.
You can follow the whole adventure with us on Wolfpack Weekly on YouTube.

Will Cupid Strike Twice?
And that's where we are today.
Agatha is in season.
Floyd is preparing to make the journey down from Scotland.
The Honeymoon Suite is waiting.
Tommy's Thomas the Tank Engine backpack will soon be packed.
Mumbles is about to meet an old friend as a grown-up rather than a puppy, Prince Walter is about to meet the Scottish King for the first time, and somewhere in the middle of all this, Agatha is waiting for the boyfriend whose name still gets her excited almost a year after she last saw him.
What happens next is up to them and Mother Nature.
We can make plans, choose dogs carefully, carry out health checks, study pedigrees and give Agatha and Floyd every opportunity, but none of that guarantees puppies.
If they do rekindle their romance, there will still be a wait before we know whether Agatha is pregnant.
And if she is, there'll be another wait before we discover whether the Honeymoon Suite has worked its magic for a second time.
For now, though, we're simply looking forward to seeing Floyd again.
He's not a stud dog who arrives, does a job and disappears from our lives.
He's Floyd.
A much-loved family dog from Scotland. A gentle, tail-wagging gentleman. A sofa-loving film fan. Father to nine beautiful puppies whose lives we still follow. Agatha's first love.
And, for one week at least, the Scottish King will once again be in residence at Wolfpack Towers.
We'll let you know whether Agatha remembers him.
Something tells me she will. ❤️
